Charity

We regularly sponsor local charities based in the Birmingham. This can be in the form of donating prizes for raffles, offering free hot drinks for events or even hosting events. If you are a local charity and would like us to participate in an event , in any shape or form, then please get in touch with us by emailing Hannah on hannah@sixeightkafe.co.uk

12 Months, 12 Charities

As a new year’s resolution for 2013, we have set about to raise money for 12 charities in 12 months (or more if we can do it!). So far this year, thanks to generosity and kindness from our devoted customers, we have raised much-needed funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital (Diabetes Home Care) http://www.bch.nhs.uk/content/diabetes-home-care, RSVP (Rape and Sexual Violence Project) http://www.rsvporg.co.uk, and Arrive Alive UK http://www.childrenshospitals.org.uk/. Please see the links for more information about these fabulous charities.

Coming up we have some exciting charities to raise awareness for, including some great events. These include:

Thursday April 4th: Info day for Arrive Alive UK, 12pm-2pm

- Come along to find out how you can help, whether it be through monetary donations, collecting aluminium cans, or spreading the news about Arrive Alive. All who sign up will receive a voucher for a free drink!

Saturday April 20th: Charity Swish for Kommandantsdrift School in South Africa, 11.30pm-2pm

- Kommandantsdrift Primary School is an eco-school, working to encourage children to be pro-active in conservation and green projects. Students have a little of everything, but resources are in short supply. ”When asked, British school children claimed to need a) play station b) money c) food. When asking the Afrikaans school children the same question, they replied a) parents b) clean water c) socks”. Please help us help the children of this school and raise what they need. Donate a pair of socks to enter, and pay just £2.00 to enter an item to swish. Anyone who enters will get to take advantage of a slice of cake and coffee for £4.00 as well!
